Teaching tomorrow

I've had some moments today of "Why did I come here?" It's not that I'm not enjoying the trip, it's just that I feel like I haven't really served a purpose thus far. My Spanish communication is incredibly rusty, so I really haven't been able to connect with any locals. This morning when we were at the center, I really didn't do much. This afternoon I basically hung out, read some, and napped. And tonight I (again) couldn't really participate in the worship because it was nearly all in Spanish. The only parts in English were what Don and Ed said, but Ed did do some awesome teaching on the fruit of the Spirit regarding Christian leaders. (I have a bunch of notes!)

So up til now, I don't feel like I've made a contribution by being here. But, I'm hoping that will change tomorrow morning when I finally get to do some teaching. During the morning session at Esperanza Viva I'll get to do my lesson on Greek and Hebrew stuff. I'll be going over Ephesians 2:8-10 in the Greek and Psalm 23 in the Hebrew, sharing insights from the original languages that aren't seen in the English. The catch is, I'm teaching this to Spanish speakers. I'll have a translator of course, but will they understand where I'm coming from? Will it even make sense to them, based on what they have in La Biblia? I have no idea. But I'm trusting God that He'll work all that out. If nothing else, I get to share on what I'm passionate about, and that's always a ton of fun for me! :) I just hope I don't bore people, but again, that's all up to God.

For now, it's time to try and get some sleep. Goodnight! :)
