I'm pretty excited that it sounds like I'll be able to give two different talks while I'm in Venezuela! Our team's primary purpose in going on this trip is to provide teaching at the local churches' conference, so I'm really glad I'll be able to minister in this way.
The main talk I'll be giving is with one of the guys I'm traveling with, Ben. We're both married - though not to each other, of course! This is an interesting fact to note, because we're giving a talk on being single. There aren't any unmarried people on our team, so I guess we got the short straw on that one. :) We have some ideas on where to go with the talk, but it's much more difficult to speak on something that we don't have experience in. I'm not sure how many years Ben has been married, but he has two kids in high school and college! I haven't really been single in all of my adult life, since I started seriously dating my now husband when I was 18. Please pray for some inspiration for me (and Ben) on preparing this talk, because so far I'm having a difficult time putting anything together.
More recently, I found out that I will probably have the opportunity to lead a session on Greek and Hebrew. I am seriously excited about this one - that's my passion! I'm definitely going to go through Psalm 23, both because it's a familiar passage and because there are some amazing insights and depth of meaning in the Hebrew text that just doesn't come across in English. I'd like to do a passage from the New Testament as well to share some Greek with them, but I'm drawing a blank as to what passage. Any suggestions??

WOW - so many good NT passages like Rom 8:28, Eph 2:8-10, and 1 Jn 1:8-10
Or tie it into your Singles talk and pick 1 Cor 7:32-34
